An exceptionally old book of common prayer dating from 1716, printed in london by john baskett, printer to the king’s most excellent majesty.now approximately 310 years old, this early georgian prayer book contains the book of common prayer, administration of the sacraments, rites and ceremonies of the church of england, together with the psalter or psalms of david.the title page reads:“london, printed by john baskett, printer to the kings most excellent majesty… 1716.”inside are beautifully aged pages printed in the distinctive early 18th-century typeface, including the traditional long “s” typography characteristic of books from this period. the volume includes morning prayer, private morning and evening prayers, the psalms and other historic church of england liturgical material.one particularly attractive page is the order for morning prayer, which features a small decorative woodcut-style illustration.details:* date: 1716* printed by john baskett
