An original 1845 miniature new testament, printed at the oxford university press for the british and foreign bible society.this exceptionally compact victorian bible measures only 9 cm tall, yet contains the complete new testament from matthew through revelation in remarkably small double-column type.the book retains its original brown embossed binding, featuring an attractive geometric and circular design to the front board. the title page is clearly dated 1845.one particularly interesting feature is the extensive 19th-century handwritten ownership history inside. an inscription appears to be dated bath, 1848, only a few years after publication, giving the book genuine period provenance and character.dimensions:9 cm high × 6 cm wide × 1 cm deepcondition:
a heavily used 181-year-old devotional book with substantial age-related wear. the binding has rubbing, losses and deterioration around the edges and spine. pages show toning, staining, creasing and occasional damage. there are numerous historic handwritten inscriptions and later writing. the binding/text block also shows weakness and separation in places. please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
